Presets FAQ

Hey, I’m Kamelia! Thanks so much for stopping by and checking out my presets! I’m so excited to share these with you and I really want you to have an awesome experience here. Do me a favor and pretty please make sure that you read all of the information listed below before you complete your purchase.

WHAT ARE PRESETS?

Presets are basically high end 'filters'. You've probably used a filter on your photos before to make them look nicer. The difference in these filters is that they are created in the Adobe Lightroom program which we typically call “Lightroom” for short.

Lightroom has amazing capabilities that regular filters don't. You can custom create your own personal filters depending on your style and then save them in the app. This is called a "preset'.

Then you simply load your photo into Lightroom then copy the preset settings and paste them onto your photo. This makes editing so much easier and way more efficient. You know you'll get an amazing edit in minutes this way.

Since taking & editing photos is my full-time job, I’ve created my own presets in Lightroom that I’ve used to enhance all of my photos that you see on my Instagram feed.

Each of my presets are a bit different, but they are all based off of a similar look and feel. This way I can create a more beautiful and cohesive feed for my Instagram page. It also helps me to create more beautiful photos for my blog and also for personal printing and framing.

WILL I HAVE TO ADJUST THE PRESETS FOR MY OWN PHOTOS?

Most likely you’ll adjust a few of the settings in order to fit the photo and to match your personal style. This is normal and I even adjust my own presets for my own photos. Think of presets as a shortcut to fast track your editing process.

There are multiple presets in a pack, so have fun and play with each of them until you find the right fit for your particular photo. Some common adjustments that I use often are white balance, color adjustments, clarity, sharpening, and noise reduction.

My best advice is to play around with these adjustments in the app until you learn their functions. That way you’ll create your own personal preference as you grow in your editing skills. There are lots of Lightroom tutorials on YouTube as well.

WILL THESE WORK FROM MY PHONE?

YES! :) I edit all of my photos from the free Lightroom app on my phone and so can you! Lightroom has a subscription service but you don’t even need to subscribe to it unless you want to. You can use my presets easily on the free version just like I do.

ARE THE EXACT SAME PRESETS YOU USE?

Yep, they sure are! I created these over years of editing and I’m excited to share these with you so that you can save years of your life figuring it out on your own! ;)

A few things to keep in mind that will vary the final outcome of your photos:

  • Location
  • Lighting
  • Camera
  • Lens
  • Camera Settings
  • Whether you shoot in RAW or JPEG

All of these things will vary the final outcome of your photos. Play with the adjustments within the app to create the perfect fit. Most of all, have fun creating! :)

Shooting in RAW

I recommend shooting your photos in RAW. If you have a digital camera then check your settings for this because each camera will be different. Shooting in RAW will take up more space on your SD card, but it’s the best for post editing in Lightroom.

If you’re shooting photos from your phone, then you have the option to shoot them straight from the Lightroom app in RAW. There’s a RAW setting in the free Lightroom app with a camera already built in for you. Check it out!

Do I have to shoot in RAW for these to work?

Nope! The presets will still work even if you don’t shoot in RAW. I just recommend shooting in RAW for the best result, but it’s totally up to you and your creative style.

The most important thing is to shoot with what you enjoy and what you'll actually use. I started out with my phone and evolved over the years. Start where you are with what you have. Enjoy the creative process and watch your photos come to life!

Are these presets compatible with Photoshop?

No. These presets were created within Lightroom and are only compatible with the  Lightroom program.

What happens if I don’t like the presets?

I've tested these out on lots of different photos and put a lot of love into making them very user-friendly. I really think that you’re going to love them, but since this is a digital product there are no refunds and all sales are final.
